For too long, people who need these products have been unfairly penalized. Did you know 86% of women report that they’ve started their periods unexpectedly in public without the supplies they needed? When this happens, 79% report improvising with toilet paper, paper towels, or another makeshift fix.
Imagine a public restroom with no toilet paper or soap. It’s unthinkable. So why is it acceptable for public restrooms to have no tampons or pads?
The answer is it isn’t acceptable.
Providing menstrual care products as a restroom necessity is becoming the law in many U.S. states. Many whole countries are making change, too. But the work is far from over. That’s why I’m urging you to support this vital initiative.
It’s time to take menstrual care needs seriously. Period.
